I ran into this forum. I am not a computer wiz but I know the basic function like changing the screen saver. I am running Vista 32 bit and the screen saver will not go on, except when I put the computer to sleep manually. The sleep mode will not work in the power saving setting either. The display will not turn off in the power saving settings and will not go to sleep. I am mostly curious about the screen saver not functioning because I can manually put to sleep. Any suggestions? Thank you

I am not on Windows Vista right now but from what I can remember, try going into the Power Options in control panel to make sure nothing is disabled.
I just want to say that screen savers do not save any electricity at all.

Thank you. Does it save your screen from constantly being on?

It does protect your screen from burn-in. One thing I see at schools is that many of their monitors have burn in from the login screen because monitors are left on over-night or all the time when not in use.
The best option would be to have your monitor stand-by when not in use
