about 3 weeks ago, my comp went for repairs..only recently, while struggling to find solution to restore my snipping tool..i see that the option for tablet pc component is missing from the start menu under programs. i use the snipping tool becasue its a great tool to work with, but after the repairs, the tool has experienced some glitches like not able to save images. what can be done so the next time it happens, i wont have to run around tirelessly trying to find solution. that is why i came here.

Hi and welcome to the forums. Open your Services by opening start menu, right click computer > manage > services

Scroll down to T and see if Tablet PC Input Service is enabled. Enable it and "start it", then check if the Snipping tool is there. If not, go to see if the tablet pc component is still available in the control panel.

If not, I found this download that might help

What do you mean by no component file?
Sorry I didn't notice it was for XP only.

    Did you check in C:\Windows\System32
    its called SnippingTool.exe

OMG i typed in snipping tool.exe in search in start menu, it showed the snipping tool file, the one that came with the comp, i tested it just now and it works fine!..so i removed the one that didnt work, and replaced with this one. sounds complex but right now my problem is solved. if i have another problem, ill be sure to return back here. this is a great forum.
